She Prays: A new chapter for women at City Church Cardiff

Worship, testimony and prayer mark the launch of a new women’s initiative at City Church Cardiff.

On Saturday 26 April, City Church Cardiff hosted its first She Prays women’s gathering — a morning filled with worship, testimony, and community.

The vision for She Prays began to take shape a few months ago, as a group of women in the church expressed a desire to create regular opportunities to gather. At the same time, several of the team sensed the Holy Spirit prompting them to take a step of faith. What started as a conversation soon became a reality, as six women came together to dream, plan, and pray.

The event welcomed around 100 women of all ages and backgrounds. Together they shared powerful stories of answered prayer, worshipped, prayed, and of course, enjoyed coffee and cake. Guest speaker Linda Murray shared about her recent mission trip to Pakistan with Elim Global, and the gathering took time to pray for the ministry there and give towards the work.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing women step out in faith — sharing testimonies and contributing with their unique gifts. It was an encouraging time of connection, with many uplifted by hearing how God is working in everyday lives.

The team is already looking forward to the next She Prays gathering and all that God will continue to do through this new ministry.
