The quiet revival: Five young men, five bold baptisms

At Porth Elim, intentional mentoring and real relationship are leading to powerful steps of faith.

The Bible Society’s recent Quiet Revival report highlights how spiritual growth is increasingly taking place through personal exploration, digital engagement, and small-group discipleship. That’s exactly what’s happening at Porth Elim Church — and it’s led to five young men being baptised in a powerful, personal step of faith.

As part of MPower’s ongoing vision to coach and mentor younger generations of boys and men, the church has been investing in these young men through intentional, relational discipleship. Each received an age-appropriate Bible, became part of a mentoring group, and joined regular sessions known as the Band of Brothers — a space for honest questions, shared prayer, and authentic faith.

Their baptisms weren’t part of a megachurch event, but a quiet revolution — public declarations in a world where spirituality can often remain private. What each of these young men shared was a hunger for real, relational faith — and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

God is still moving — not always in loud rallies, but in the steady turning of hearts like these five young men stepping boldly into the waters of baptism and as new creations in Christ Jesus.
