Ready to share
At the start of June we had the privilege of taking another Elim Evangelism Team (EET) to the beautiful town of Christchurch. We'd just missed the week of summer, but that didn't hinder our plans. We simply swapped sunscreen for waterproofs!
We had a great time alongside the people of Christchurch Community Church, sharing Jesus with the local community and seeing people respond to the gospel. Whether it was with a toddler group, their growing youth group, a quiz night, an afternoon tea, or out on the streets, we had a wonderful time.
During the five days we were able to train and equip the team who joined us from the church in: knowing and sharing your story; knowing the gospel and how to share it; street evangelism; and door-to-door evangelism. All of those who were trained were also given the opportunity to activate what they'd learned and put it into practice.
A real highlight was seeing people respond to the gospel, with some even healed. Alongside that, it was wonderful to see those who joined us on the team grow in confidence in sharing Jesus with others. It was especially good to see people who had never shared Jesus on the streets before feel equipped, confident, and ready to put it into practice.
Elim Evangelism Teams are a great way to serve alongside a local church, helping them reach their community with the gospel, and training and equipping the church to stay intentional about sharing it in all that they do.
